Vinification

Les Chailles is one of Alain Voge's parcel cuvées from the Cornas appellation, with vineyards on granite soils. Syrah is fermented in the traditional method with partial whole-cluster use, then aged in oak barrels. The style is elegant and terroir-driven, with an emphasis on minerality and varietal purity.

Winery Story

Alain Voge is a legendary estate in Cornas, founded in 1958 and regarded as one of the benchmark producers of this appellation. Today the estate is led by Lionel Fraisse, who carries on a tradition of high-quality terroir-driven work. The estate is also known for outstanding Saint-Péray from white varieties.

Vineyard Story

The fruit for Les Chailles comes from vineyards on the steep granite slopes of the Cornas appellation in the northern Rhône. Granite soils provide the characteristic minerality and structure, while a continental climate with hot summers and cool nights preserves freshness and aromatic complexity. Cornas is the only appellation in the Northern Rhône permitted to use red grapes exclusively.
